nafdac laments again, FAKE DRUGS ARE TOO MUCH !!!

Is it because the former boss of nafdac is no longer there that this fake drugs are coming into the country?
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has decried the high rate of counterfeit and fake products across the country, saying the trend has militated against regulatory agencies in the country.

Speaking in Enugu, on Thursday, at a one-day sensitisation/stakeholders workshop organised by a human resource management and development consultancy firm, Christabels International, in collaboration with NAFDAC , Director-General of the agency , Dr Paul Orhii, charged Nigerians to always reject any product which its expiry date had been tampered with.

The NAFDAC boss advised Nigerians to always check the full manufacturer’s name and address on products before buying, assuring that the establishment would not relent in its efforts to eradicate fake and adulterated products.

According to him, the forum was aimed at providing a platform for stakeholders to rub minds with a view to improving the quality and safety of available regulated products.

Dr Orhii , who was represented by the Assistant Director, Public Relations of the agency, Alhaji Jimoh Abubakar, disclosed that the agency had mapped out various strategies to achieve its mandate, which included “inspection of facilities for the manufacture; distribution and retailing of regulated products; regulating and controlling of food, drugs, cosmetics, medical device, chemicals and packaged water.”
